❓Tanja Baltes-Lebrecht asked: How do you find the buildings (the sights) for the game? Do you have to ask for permission to use those buildings as a graphic for the game? How many days do you spend on the design? I noticed that there are fewer buildings from Germany, like well known sights from Hamburg, for example. So how do you pick the buildings?
⚡Hello! I’m Val, narrative designer for SuperCity.
It’s narrative designers who select sights for the game. We look for architecturally interesting buildings that would look good with the game’s graphics. Sometimes I find myself really disappointed when a building I really love for its exterior and its history ends up being too complex to produce.
We don’t need to ask for permissions to add buildings to the game, because their image is public domain.
It takes approximately one month for a sight to go from an idea to an actual building in the game. First, the narrative designer finds an interesting building and compiles a task for the art department. The artists create a 2D concept of the building, then translate it to 3D and add animation.
We are trying to include sights from all over the world. Sometimes we focus on one region for a while, then move on to another. If we haven’t added sights from your country so far, wait a little – we might be already working on one of them. You can also suggest a building, leaving a comment here on the page or sending your idea to support. We really appreciate your suggestions!
